Has skin-conditioning and hair softening properties

Description: Extract from grape seeds dissolved in a base of glycerin and water. Extract widely used for anti-irritant skin care products. Grapeseed extract is a popular topical therapy for skin because of these qualities, as well as the large levels of omega chain fatty acids and vitamin E it contains. Grapeseed extract has a remarkable history for herbal medicines and has been utilized since ancient civilizations for everything from anti-aging properties to combating free radicals to mending skin damage. It is soluble in water, alcohol, and glycerol but is insoluble in oil.

Benefits:

  • Multiple effects on the skin including antioxidant properties (radical scavenger) and anti-aging properties
  • Makes the skin look visibly younger, stronger, and less fragile
  • Has also toning and restorative effects
  • Suitable for the sensitive and irritated skin

Use: All skin care products can be added to a wide range of products including creams, lotions, shampoos and conditioners, bath products, and moisturizing products such as face oils, face creams and body butters, to provide additional flavor and nutrients.

Applications: Slowly stir desired amount of liquid into formula and mix well. Typical use level .5% to 5%. For external use only.

This is a natural product which may darken with age (discoloration will not affect efficacy). Slight fallout may occur over time. Protect from oxidation. Store at room temperature.

Tips: This product provides rich attributions to formulations such as lotions, shampoos and soap. Test your final product to ensure optimal performance.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Not directly. A water-soluble botanical extract belongs in a compatible water phase. For an anhydrous oil or balm, use an oil-compatible extract or redesign the delivery system.

No. A liquid extract and whole botanical powder differ in concentration, carrier, colour, insoluble matter and preservation needs. Treat the change as a reformulation rather than a 1:1 swap.

No. Botanical colour, fine plant matter, pH, salts and surfactants can still create haze or slight sediment. Check the complete formula after standing and during stability testing.

Yes, if the base is compatible, but adding a new water-compatible raw material can change pH, viscosity and preservative demand. Recheck stability and preservation before commercial sale.

Yes, but keep the total extract load practical. Too many extracts can increase colour, odour, electrolytes, haze and microbial challenge even when each ingredient works well on its own.

For a generic botanical-extract workflow, add it at a reasonably cool stage after the main heating step unless the current supplier guidance says otherwise. This reduces unnecessary heat exposure.

It can. Add all water-phase ingredients first, then measure final pH and viscosity. Adjust only after the formula has equilibrated so the preservative and other actives remain in their suitable range.

Natural botanical extracts can oxidise, interact with other ingredients or contain fine plant-derived matter. Compare against a retained control and investigate significant changes before release.

Not automatically. Surfactants and electrolytes can change clarity and viscosity. Test the exact cleanser system rather than assuming water solubility guarantees compatibility.

No. Keep claims cosmetic and evidence-based. A botanical ingredient name alone does not prove that the finished product treats pigmentation, hair loss, acne, inflammation or another medical condition.

No. The liquid extract is designed for the water phase, while grape seed oil is an oil-phase emollient. Their composition and formulation roles are different.
