Description: Linalool is a common synthetic aroma ingredient with intense floral, lavender and sweet notes at room temperature. Linalool should be the ingredient that gives the lift in an overall heavier composition (enhance the aroma profile of products). Newer derivatives, particularly the higher homologies of Linalool, are excellent modifiers/blenders with proper mellowing effect upon the more volatile Linalool.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. It is a perfumery raw material and should be incorporated into a properly designed fragrance or cosmetic formula rather than applied directly as a finished product.

Many aroma materials reveal their character better after dilution and dry-down. Evaluate a controlled dilution on a blotter and in the intended base instead of judging only the concentrated raw material.

No. Longevity depends on the whole fragrance architecture, concentration, carrier, skin or substrate and evaporation profile. Compare controlled formulas rather than treating one material as a universal fixative.

No. Overdosing can flatten the accord, mask other notes or exceed an applicable restriction. Optimise the balance and keep the final use level within current documentation for the exact material.

Yes. Blending is normal in perfumery, but the result is a new formula. Record weights and reassess the combined restrictions, clarity and odour performance.

Yes, if you choose a compatible solvent and clearly label the dilution strength. Include the solvent in the final formula calculation and confirm long-term clarity and stability.

Often yes. Give the blend time to reach a stable odour and clarity in the chosen base, but do not treat a fixed resting period as a substitute for actual stability testing.

No. Acceptable use depends on the exact material, the finished product category and current safety guidance. Use application-specific documentation.

No. It is a concentrated formulation material. Skin use should only occur through a finished product formulated and assessed for that application.

Keep total fragrance concentration, carrier, ageing time and evaluation conditions the same. Change one variable at a time so the effect of the material can be judged fairly.
