Metanov 68 (use as montanov 68) is produced from vegetable and biodegradable raw materials since it is coconut oil and cassava plant. It is a non-ionic, non-irritant, non-comedogenic emulsifier of the oil-in-water (O/W) type. Its 100% biodegradable. With Montanov 68 you can make oil-in-water emulsions with a creamy and light texture. It is ideal for a series of homemade natural cosmetics such as lotions, creams, body butters, cleansing milks. Usage rate |
Recommended usage level: 1-5 % To make a lotion with Montanov 68, heat the emulsifier in a separate container with the oil phase to 75°C (168°F). Pour the heated water phase into the heated oil phase and mix with a stick blender until the emulsion forms. Switch to a low shear mixer like a hand mixer or hand whisk once the emulsion forms. Add any cool down phase ingredients at 40°C (104°F). Stability: Stable between pH 3-12 |

Why do we use it in formulations? |
It makes a lotion that isn’t especially thick nor thin. It has a silky and rich feel (Cream to butter textures). It emulsifies all types of oils (ester, mineral, vegetable, silicone). Lotions made with Montanov 68 are described as being lighter and more moisturizing than those made with non-liquid crystal emulsifiers, like Polawax or Emulsifying Wax NF. |
