What is PEG-7 Glyceryl cocoate?

PEG 7 glyceryl cocoate is a blend of synthetic compounds such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) and coconut oil. HLB value 11 (gives oil-in-water emulsions). It is produced by ethoxylation of glyceryl cocoate, with 7 units of ethylene oxide monomer in the polymer chain.
What Does PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate Do in Skincare Products?
  • Surfactant and Cleansing Agent: The PEG compound, PEG-7 Glyceryl cocoate, works as a surfactant. This means, it will mix substances together easily. This works especially on substances that do not mix easily. The surfactants put down the surface tension of the substance. This is how it makes them easy to mix and clean better.
